Bundesliga: Victory in Bremen! Gnabry continues Bavaria's upward trend

After coping with frustration in the Champions League, FC Bayern Munich has also returned to success in the Bundesliga. Niko Kovac’s team beat SV Werder Bremen 2-1 (1-1) on the 13th matchday thanks to Serge Gnabry and climbed to third place for the time being.

Just as Bremen coach Kohfeldt, who had offered Osako instead of Harnik from the start, Bayern coach Kovac changed his team to only one position compared to the last game: Gnabry moved into the record champion’s team for seals at short notice.

But Robben’s colleagues did not notice the English week. The Bavarians felt like at home in the Weserstadion right from the kick-off, playing powerfully and self-confidently. Lewandowski failed early on in the strong Pavlenka (7th), the again in the defensive midfield called Kimmich missed the goal of the Bremen keeper with a Schlenzer narrowly (15th).

After all, it was ex-Bremer Gnabry who rewarded the strong initial phase of the guests. After a nice kimmich input, the national player defeated Pavlenka in the additional shot (20.). Müller could have raised the ball just six minutes later, but headed an Alaba flank just beside the goal. The last consequence was missing to set the course for victory before halftime.

Also in the back: Werder’s attack did not take place except for a long-range shot from Sahin (29th) in the first half, but still managed to score. Osako proved to be quick to act after a Kruse flank and provided the flattering balance out of nowhere (33rd). Neuer, who came out of his box too late, and Boateng, who let Osako go without resistance, looked anything but good in this situation – to the annoyance of Kovac on the sidelines.

In the break, however, he found the right words, his team after the change of sides, but again a higher gear and switched his team after Gnabry quickly came to the success, which with the luck of the brave over the line maneuvered the ball (50.). In the end, the Munich team had to work hard for their seventh league victory. In the final phase, Bremen still set the one or other dangerous pinprick, as by Kruse, whose shot just passed Neuers goal (77th). The 2:1 from the guests’ point of view was deserved in view of their dominance and chances.

Promoted to match winner with a double pack at his old place of work. He was also the most conspicuous player of the afternoon. Won the most duels (13) and scored with a very good pass rate (90 percent). Also strong was Kimmich, who had the most ball actions of any midfielder and passed 94 per cent of his passes to the other player.

Once again he made an unfocused appearance. Slept not only in the meantime equalization, but lost a total of eleven balls. On the Bremen side disappointing: Sahin, who won only 37 percent of his duels.
