FC Bayern were delighted with the comebacks of the previously injured Thiago and Kingsley Coman in their 2-1 win over Werder Bremen. But Franck Ribery was also injured again.
The Frenchman had to leave the field in the 38th minute due to a muscle injury: “He got a blow to the thigh, the muscle closes. He reported it in time,” coach Niko Kovac told Sky after the game about the injury of the experienced player.
Whether and how long the 35-year-old will be absent is not yet known.
For Ribery compatriot Coman came into the game. The 21-year-old had suffered a syndesmosis rupture against Hoffenheim on Matchday 1 and has not been able to play a single match since then. “Coman should only play ten, 15 minutes, but the fact that he played a whole half shows that our athletic coaches did a good job,” explained Kovac.
Thiago, who came into the match in the 80th minute for DOppetor shooter Serge Gnabry, had been out for about six weeks due to an external ligament rupture in the ankle joint.
