For the time being, VfB Stuttgart will have to do without world champion Benjamin Pavard. According to sports director Michael Reschke, the French national player suffered a muscle fibre tear in his right thigh during the 0:3 (0:0) match with Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday evening.
The central defender had already suffered the injury in a sprint before 0:1 (69th). But it was only after his own goal to the final score in the 84th minute that the unlucky fellow was limped off the field.
“He felt he could still help the crew. You have to acknowledge that,” said Reschke.
