Coach Julian Nagelsmann and TSG Hoffenheim have decided not to hold a training camp during the winter break of the current Bundesliga season.
“We don’t drive now, but there are short-term possibilities if the weather doesn’t fit,” said the 31-year-old before the Bundesliga game on Saturday (15.30 in the LIVETICKER) at the VfL Wolfsburg: “I want to release the guys as long as possible in winter.
Hoffenheim will therefore return to training on 6 January at the club’s own training ground in Zuzenhausen. “Because of the short break, it’s more about recovering than training two or three more days,” said Nagelsmann. “The boys have 13 days off and get an individual training program.”
Until the winter break, the TSG coach can probably fall back on the services of his long injured defender Benjamin Hübner (concussion), who recently returned to team training.
“If we throw him into the Bundesliga again, we’ll see how he can handle it,” said Nagelsmann: “It’s quite possible that he can still play a few games before Christmas.”
