FC Bayern and their coach Niko Kovac are doomed to victory in the Bundesliga on the 13th matchday. It is therefore surprising that Kovac of all people leaves Benfica matchwinner Arjen Robben on the bench for the time being. In the BVB, Lucien Favre bets on Mario Götze instead of Paco Alcacer.
For the Dutchman, Serge Gnabry, who was last beaten, moves into the starting formation. Otherwise, Kovac will be relying on the very team that beat Benfica Lisbon 5-1 in the Champions League during the week.
This also means that Joshua Kimmich will once again play together with Leon Goretzka on the double six. For the nominal right-back, Rafinha plays in the four-man chain.
Lucien Favre, on the other hand, will start the rotation machine again at the BVB and change his starting eleven to five positions in the Champions League in comparison to the desolate 0:0 against Bruges. Achraf Hakimi, Thomas Delaney, Jadon Sancho, Jacob Bruun Larsen and Mario Götze return to the initial formation of the black-yellow.
While Götze replaces Paco Alcacer as a false nine in the storm centre, Favre surprisingly renounces Manuel Akanji in central defence. In his place, Abdou Diallo moves from the left-back position to the centre of the defence.
