Five months after the end of his career, former national soccer player Stefan Kießling has admitted to cheating during individual training in preparation.
“You get a heart rate monitor that stores all your runs. Since my wife is very athletic, she did one or two runs with her heart rate monitor on the cross-country trainer according to my specifications – so well that nobody could understand it,” the former goal scorer from Bayer Leverkusen told Sport Bild.
The 34-year-old, who now works as an assistant to Leverkusen’s sports managing director Rudi Völler, admitted openly: “I didn’t make all the runs one hundred percent in any preparation. Not once.”
