Hertha BSC still has a chance to win. Coach Pal Dardai’s team defeated Hannover 96 2-0 (1-0) on the 13th matchday and finally scored three points after six games without victory.
Jordan Torunarigha (44th) and Vedad Ibisevic (73rd) scored at a very low level for the capitals.
The last Bundesliga victory for Berlin was the 2-0 win over record champions Bayern Munich on the sixth matchday, followed by four draws and two defeats. Hertha improved to seventh place due to her victory in the table, Hanover is second last.
And the pressure on coach Andre Breitenreiter should increase further. Club boss Martin Kind had demanded three wins from the last five games until the winter break after the bad start to the season before the game – after the bankruptcy against Hertha now only four possibilities remain.
In front of 35,800 spectators, who protested against unloved kick-off times in the first half with a mood boycott, Hannover was a little more aware of the uncertainty after the recent setbacks. The landlords afforded many ball losses and invited Hertha to attack.
Marko Grujic (9.), Salomon Kalou (25.) and old champion Ibisevic in his 300th Bundesliga match per capita (40.), however, gave good chances. Only when everyone had already set themselves for a 0:0 at half time, the Berliners stabbed. Torunarigha scored a corner goal in a header duel with Walace and nodded to his first goal of the season. The second goal was prepared by Torunarigha, Ibisevic scored by head.
For a long time there was too little to see of Hanover, the team had hardly any ideas for a long time in possession of the ball. Only Niclas Füllkrug once caused danger from a distance (17th).
