Good news for Borussia Dortmund before the Champions League duel with FC Bruges (from 9 p.m. in LIVETICKER): Alejandro Camano, Achraf Hakimi’s advisor, has given the Bundesliga leaders hope for a firm commitment from the defender lent by Real Madrid.
“Borussia Dortmund is a wonderful club and already like a home for Achraf. He feels totally comfortable and enjoys the time there to the full. We’ll see what the future holds. We’re not thinking Real Madrid now. Achraf is at BVB with all five senses,” said Camano in an exclusive interview with SPOX and Goal.
Hakimi’s loan contract runs until 30 June 2020 and the black-yellow players do not have a purchase option for the Moroccan national player.
Managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke, however, announced at the general meeting last Sunday that, as in the case of the Spanish attacker Paco Alcacer, he was striving for a firm commitment on the part of the 20-year-old.
“Nothing has changed in the agreement between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund,” Camano stressed, revealing that he had not spoken to the royals since his client changed.
“We are very grateful to Dortmund for giving Achraf the chance to play at the very highest level in such a great league as the Bundesliga. That’s all that matters,” he explained.
The Madrid-born backfielder has played eleven competitive games for Lucien Favre’s team to date. He scored one goal and prepared six more. On Wednesday, Hakimi and his colleagues want to make it to the Champions League round of the last sixteen against Bruges.
