Bundesliga: Grujic with brains: Hertha cracks harmony

Eintracht Frankfurt is finally out of step after a furious season start in the Bundesliga. Coach Adi Hütter’s team conceded their second consecutive defeat at Hertha BSC with a 0-1 (0-1) defeat and lost their way to the top for the time being.

Midfielder Marko Grujic scored his first Bundesliga goal and scored the 1:0 (40th) winning goal for the Berliners, who were on points equal to Eintracht.

On his return to the Olympic Stadium seven months after his triumphant cup victory over Bayern Munich in the attack, Frankfurt was not strong enough. The highly acclaimed offensive trio Sebastian Haller, Luka Jovic and Ante Rebic were far from top form.

Hertha coach Pal Dardai trusted the same starting team that had ended the mini crisis the weekend before at 2-0 at Hannover 96. His opponent Adi Hütter exchanged only one position (Carlos Salcedo for Marco Russ) despite the bitter 1:2 home defeat against VfL Wolfsburg.

In front of around 48,000 spectators in Berlin’s Olympic Stadium, both teams neutralized each other for a long time.

The visitors had the first chance of the game, but Top-Scorer Haller only hit the outer post (10th) after a fine individual performance. After that, Eintracht goalkeeper Kevin Trapp made a capital mistake while running out of a corner, which the Berliners left unused.

The Herthans were poisonous in the duels, but at first only Grujic radiated gate danger. Liverpool FC’s loan failed with two long-range shots before the midfielder jumped higher after a corner than Eintracht defender Makoto Hasebe and headed the ball into goal with full force.
