Here you can find all news and smells about Borussia Dortmund.
Lucien Favre has given the all-clear to Axel Witsel, who was replaced by FC Bruges in the final stages of the Champions League match. “It was just cramps, it’s not bad,” said the coach from Borussia Dortmund, after the BVB had made the jump to the round of 16 of the royal class with a 0:0 against the Belgian champion.
In the final minutes of the match, Belgian international Witsel had held his right knee after an unfortunate landing and thus provided a moment of shock. Coach Favre reacted immediately and brought Thomas Delaney.
Central defender Abdou Diallo also had to leave the pitch shortly before the end of the game. How he is doing is not yet known.
Borussia Dortmund can apparently prepare for an offer for Maximilian Philipp. The Stuttgarter Nachrichten reports that Michael Reschke of VfB Stuttgart sees the BVB striker as a potential reinforcement for the winter break. Philipp could be borrowed until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old was originally supposed to start the season under Lucien Favre, but has now been ousted. His playing times decreased significantly, against FC Bayern Munich and against the 1st FSV Mainz 05 he did not make it into the squad. Philipp only played six minutes in the Champions League.
In Dortmund, the striker still has a contract until 2022, after being signed by SC Freiburg in summer 2017.
VfB Stuttgart is also said to have been interested in Shinji Kagawa recently. With his public statements, however, the Japanese has rejected the Bundesliga club and has actually prepared for a future in Spain. The kicker now reports that this could be difficult.
Kagawa is said not to have aroused any interest in Spain at the moment. An interest of FC Sevilla reported by the picture does not exist according to the trade journal. It’s unclear how the midfielder wants to plan his future. A change seems very probable due to short operating times.
After the game is before the game: Lucien Favre will be back in the press just a few hours after the 0-0 draw against Club Brugge. The BVB coach will talk about the upcoming match against SC Freiburg at 12.45 p.m. (Saturday, 15.30 p.m. in the LIVETICKER). SPOX accompanies the press conference in the Tagesticker.
