Bundesliga: Eberl missing Gladbach after intestinal surgery

Sports director Max Eberl (45) of Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach has undergone an intestinal operation. “It’s nothing dramatic, but it has to be done – unfortunately a kind of family disease in our country,” the former Bundesliga professional told the picture.

Eberl will therefore not be available to Borussia for the time being: “I have to stay in hospital for 9 to 10 days and will probably not be allowed in the stadium until Christmas”, says Eberl.

The five-time German champion is the first runner-up of table leader Borussia Dortmund this season.

Until further notice, Eberl’s duties with the foals will be taken over by scouting boss and Eberl assistant Steffen Korell (47).
