Chelsea FC are still interested in a commitment from Christian Pulisic. According to information from Goal, the Blues have declared the 20-year-old their main transfer destination for the coming summer, but are not willing to pay the amount called up.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, this amounts to around 80 million euros. Pulisic’s contract with BVB runs until the summer of 2020. There is no prospect of a contract extension for the Schwarz-Gelbe, the player has so far apparently rejected all offers to extend his working paper.
Under the new BVB coach Lucien Favre, Pulisic does not play a major role and is therefore reportedly not satisfied with his situation. Only twice in the current season was he allowed to play in the Bundesliga over the full distance, and in the end he only played short distances.
So if the Bundesliga leader still wants to collect a redemption, Pulisic would have to be allowed to move next summer at the latest.
In the race for the young American, the Blues expect competition from other top European clubs such as PSG or Premier League club Liverpool.
By means of a Pulisic transfer, the Londoners want to reposition themselves more broadly on the wings, as the future of superstar Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge is still uncertain. That’s why Chelsea has been associated with Pulisic for months.
Chelsea Ousmane Dembele of FC Barcelona and Nabil Fekir of Olympique Lyon are seen as further possibilities for the outer lane.
